Comfort, Strength, Everyday Confidence
Women’s health physio at Physium supports pregnancy, postnatal recovery and pelvic health with evidence-based care that respects your stage of life. We focus on comfort now and strength that holds up to real life: feeding, lifting, returning to work or exercise and feeling steady in your own body.
What Women’s Health Physio Covers
After a thorough history, we assess pelvic floor function, breathing mechanics, abdominal wall support and any pain patterns (pelvic, back, rib or hip). Care might include pelvic floor training, gentle manual therapy, breath and pressure management, and graded strength work that makes daily tasks easier. We’ll explain every step in plain English and adjust around your preferences.
Common Concerns We Help
Pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain, back or rib pain, abdominal separation, perineal trauma recovery, prolapse symptoms, urinary urgency or leakage, painful intercourse, and return-to-exercise planning post birth or surgery. For many, confidence builds when we match exercises to energy levels and use positions that feel safe and achievable.
How Sessions Are Structured
We pace sessions carefully—less is often more at the start. Breath and pressure control set the base, then we add pelvic floor endurance, hips and trunk strength, and practical tasks like transfers, pram pushing and lifting from the floor.
If hands-on techniques help pain settle, we use them; if certain positions are uncomfortable, we modify immediately and keep you progressing.
Return-to-movement milestones:
Comfortable walking blocks and single-leg control without symptom spikes
Basic trunk and pelvic floor endurance tests passed in easy positions
Gradual re-intro of impact (light jogging, hopping) only when the first two are solid
Why Choose Physium for Women’s Health
You’ll see clinicians who listen first and explain clearly. Because physio, osteo, Clinical Pilates and a rehab gym are under one roof, we can blend care without sending you elsewhere. For NDIS participants, goals around continence, mobility and participation are tracked with sensible measures and shared updates.

Care That Fits Your Season
If timing, comfort or childcare shape your days, we’ll pace sessions around real life. Positions are adjusted for ease and safety, and progress is measured in the moments that matter—walking, lifting, feeding and moving without second-guessing.
A Supportive Path Back to You
Our aim is steady, sustainable change. We’ll set a plan that respects sleep, feeding schedules and real-world energy, so progress happens without overwhelm. Small wins—fewer leaks, easier stair climbing, smoother walks—add up to genuine confidence.
Postnatal Guidance You Can Trust
Return to exercise should feel encouraging, not confusing. We’ll outline a staged plan for walking, Pilates or gym work and, when ready, higher-impact options—always matched to your comfort and healing timelines.
