Shoulder Bursitis Treatment

Calm Inflammation And Restore Reach
Subacromial bursitis can make simple reaching or side-sleeping feel sharp and achy. We’ll quiet the irritation, improve shoulder mechanics and rebuild strength so everyday tasks and sleep become routine again.
Why the Bursa Gets Irritated
The bursa cushions tendons and can become inflamed with repeated overhead work, long slumped postures or strength/control gaps that load one spot. We’ll assess range, cuff capacity and scapular rhythm, then explain which movements are helpful now, which to modify briefly and when to widen range confidently.
Treatment That Actually Sticks
Early care may include taping, joint techniques and soft-tissue work to reduce pain while we rebuild quality movement. We start with non-pinchy arcs, strengthen the cuff and scapular muscles through those arcs, and progress to overhead work as tolerance improves.
You’ll get pain rules (during and next day), a short home plan you can stick with, and clear progress checks. If persistent inflammation stalls progress, we’ll liaise with your GP about options like a guided corticosteroid injection and integrate post-injection rehab to ensure lasting improvements.
Why Choose Physium For Bursitis
Everything you need—hands-on care, Clinical Pilates and a rehab gym—is under one roof, so improvements move from the table into real life quickly. Imaging or physician input is used when it changes decisions. We support plan- and self-managed NDIS participants, focusing on reach, dressing, domestic tasks and work demands.

Sleep Better Move Freer
We’ll fine-tune side-sleeping, add a brief pre-bed routine and show morning resets so the shoulder wakes calmer. As strength through range returns, overhead reach and carries stop feeling like a gamble.
Quick Wins For Quieter Shoulders
Small adjustments can significantly decrease daily discomfort as you build strength:
- Adjust reach height and angle during sore phases
- Use brief “reset” sets after desk or driving blocks
- Prioritise quality reps over volume to avoid flare-ups
Implementing these changes can help maintain your overall well-being and prevent unnecessary tension. Remember, consistency and mindfulness in your movements can lead to lasting improvements.
