Runner’s Knee Treatment
In Mill Park
Steady Stride Without Ache

Runner’s knee can turn easy loops into stop–start outings and make stairs or long sits grumble. We’ll calm the hotspot, fix what’s overloading the joint, and rebuild strength so kilometres feel smooth.

Why Runner’s Knees Get Sore

Most cases aren’t “worn-out” knees. They’re load problems—sudden mileage spikes, quick changes to hills or pace, or mechanics that push force to one spot (usually the patellofemoral joint or ITB). In your assessment, we map irritability, hip–knee strength, stride cadence, footwear and surface mix, then separate kneecap pain from tendon or meniscal drivers.

Treatment That Transfers To The Road

Early on we settle symptoms with taping if helpful, isometrics, short mobility breaks and gait tweaks that lower joint stress—often a small cadence bump or softer surfaces.

As pain eases, we build hips and quads through ranges you tolerate, tidy squat/step patterns and reintroduce running volume in planned blocks. Downhills and speed return later, once control and next-day calm say yes.

Why Choose Physium For Runner’s Knee

Hands-on care, a rehab gym and Clinical Pilates live under one roof here, so you move from relief to strength to running progressions without detours. We don’t scan unless findings will change decisions. With your okay, we’ll sync plans with your coach so rehab and training point the same way.

Keep Fitness While You Heal

Bike, pool and low-irritation strength keep your engine humming. That way when mileage climbs again, your body’s ready to use it.

A Smarter Return To Running

We’ll write a simple week-by-week build that protects confidence and fitness.

Typical return stages:

  • Walk–run intervals on forgiving surfaces

  • Steady runs with cadence tweaks and volume caps

  • Reintroduction of hills, then controlled speed work
