AC Joint Injury Treatment

Press Lift Carry With Control
An AC (acromioclavicular) sprain often follows a fall onto the shoulder or a heavy press. The top of the shoulder becomes tender, cross-body reach hurts, and pressing or carrying feels unstable. We’ll settle the joint, rebuild stability and map a safe path back to work and sport.
What’s Going On With the AC Joint
Grades range from mild sprain (I–II) to higher-grade separation. A visible bump doesn’t always mean poor function; many people regain strong, pain-free shoulders without surgery. In your assessment, we’ll confirm the pattern, check cuff and scapular function, and rule out red flags. You’ll leave with clarity on what to protect briefly, what to keep moving, and how we’ll rebuild pressing and carrying without provoking the joint.
Treatment That Respects Healing
Early we target comfort and controlled motion—short sling use if needed, taping for support, joint techniques and isometrics to keep the system online.
As pain settles, we restore scapular control, cuff strength and pressing paths that the AC joint tolerates.
Later, we add carries, overhead work and sport-specific drills at a pace that matches healing and confidence.
You’ll get pain rules, weekly milestones and a plan that works around your roster rather than fighting it.
Why Choose Physium For AC Joint Injuries Treatment
Relief, strength and return-to-task happen in one place here. Our rehab gym and Clinical Pilates space make it easy to progress from table to barbell (or toolbox) with guidance. We organise imaging only when it will change decisions and coordinate surgical opinions for high-grade injuries or persistent instability. NDIS participants are supported with outcomes tied to dressing, domestic tasks and community participation.

Back To Push And Carry
We’ll rebuild pressing paths that feel smooth and strong, then pressure-test with carries and overhead work so the joint holds under fatigue and speed—not just when you’re fresh.
