Shin Splints Treatment

Pain Free Running Rhythm
Medial tibial stress syndrome (shin splints) brings a dull, spreading ache along the inner shin that worsens with running—especially hills or hard paths—and often lingers after you stop. We’ll calm the bone–muscle interface, adjust your training rhythm, and build strength so you can run reliably again.
What Causes Pain In My Shins
Shin splints usually stem from workload jumps, hard surfaces, reduced calf–hip capacity, and a stride that slaps the ground rather than sharing the load smoothly. Your assessment reviews training blocks, shoes, and surfaces; tests calf strength, ankle range, and hip control; and rules out higher-stakes problems, such as bone stress injury. You’ll leave with clear short-term adjustments and a plan that lifts fitness without stirring symptoms.
Relief That Preserves Fitness
We use pain-guided activity, not total rest. Expect easier runs or walk–run intervals, surface tweaks and cadence changes that soften impact while strength work begins.
Calf and soleus strength, single-leg control and gentle plyometrics return as symptoms allow, followed by hills and pace when your markers say yes.
You’ll get simple rules for during and 24 hours after activity, so training decisions are calm, not guesswork.
Why Choose Physium For Shin Pain
Because treatment, a rehab gym, and Clinical Pilates all sit under one roof, we can quickly turn early comfort into durable capacity. We organise imaging only when red flags or persistent symptoms suggest bone stress. NDIS participants are supported with outcomes focused on walking tolerance and community participation.

Keep Your Stride On Track
We’ll align your week so key runs are protected, recovery is real, and strength work supports—not sabotages—progress. Small, steady steps add up to longer, easier kilometres.
From Footpath To Trails
Once symptoms improve, we gradually reintroduce hills, longer efforts, and varied surfaces while respecting previous loads. The goal is consistency throughout the month, avoiding extremes that lead to slumps.
