Ankle Sprain Treatment
In Mill Park
Stable Steps After Sprain

A rolled ankle can swell fast and leave you wary of uneven ground, change-of-direction or even simple stairs. We’ll control swelling, restore range and balance, then rebuild strength and hopping so your ankle feels trustworthy again.

What to Expect and How to Recover

Most sprains involve the lateral ligaments, with severity ranging from a mild stretch to a partial tear. Early pain and swelling are expected, but long rest alone slows recovery and invites future rolls. In your assessment, we’ll grade the sprain, screen for fracture risk, check range and calf strength, and explain a clear pathway from protection to agility. You’ll know what to do in the first 72 hours and how we’ll pace load over the next few weeks.

From Calm To Confident Movement

We start with swelling control, pain-calm range and early weight-bearing if safe.

As symptoms ease, we gradually add balance, calf strength, and controlled step-downs, then progress to hops, change-of-direction exercises, and uneven-surface work.

You’ll get simple home drills and practical footwear or brace guidance for busy days, plus written milestones so you can see progress on paper and in your stride.

Make Each Week Steadier

Short, regular sessions beat hero weekends. We’ll keep you moving safely—at work, on paths and back on the court—without baiting a setback.

Hop And Cut With Control

Before returning to sport, we ensure stability under speed and fatigue, so your ankle doesn’t give way when it matters.

Progressions we commonly use:

  • Single-leg balance to balance with perturbations

  • Small forward and lateral hops to multi-directional hops

  • Short change-of-direction drills to reactive agility tasks
